Congratulations – you are pregnant! Now what? Your mind is probably juggling many thoughts and questions, but don’t panic, this is a beautiful miracle and you have plenty of time before the little bundle arrives. If you’re wondering what to do next, here are a few important things you can do as you wait to meet your baby:
Check your medications
During your first prenatal visit, check with your doctor and find out what medications you need to be careful of. Some allergy medications or even ibuprofen might not be recommended. If you usually take ibuprofen for headaches or cramps, consider switching to Tylenol. It’s much better to play safe than sorry!
Find a workout plan
It’s very important to stay healthy and workout while you are pregnant since your body is going through a lot of changes. According to WebMD, working out also improves your posture and decreases common discomforts like backaches and fatigue. Focus on low impact aerobics versus high impact and continue to workout as long as you feel comfortable.
Read as much as you can
Try to read books about babies and pregnancy, especially if you are a first time mom or you haven’t been around babies much. You will want to get as much information as you can about how to be healthy and keep the baby healthy and growing. Parenting can be a scary thought, especially when you are first starting out, so pick up a good book and start learning all you can.
